Snorkel

Snorkel

A snorkel, mask and the flippers make the basic equipment for snorkeling. The snorkel consists of 4 parts:

  • breakwater  (prevents water to flow into the snorkel from the upper side), not all snorkels are provided with that,
  • pipe (through the pipe the air flows into the lungs and out of them, the lenght and diameter thereof depends on the lung capacity of the diver),
  • holder (for holding the snorkel at the googles),
  • upper silicone part (there is the mouthpiece due to which the snorkel stays in the mouth after biting; there may be also a expiration valve in this part to get the water out of the snorkel).
