Under the term camping we think of an activity that leads to a stay and overnight in the wild or a designated place - for example in a camp. Camping is a very popular form of recreation today. In our article, you will learn, among other things, advice and tips on what camping equipment might be useful for you. We will advise you what not not to forget so that your holiday can be completely worry-free.
The Right Preparation is the Key
Before you go camping it is important to respond a few questions. Thanks to this it will not happen that you understimate a preparation and forget something.
Where are you Going Camping?

How Long will you be Camping?

What Conditions to be Prepared for?

One important factor that determines the camping equipment is the location. Are you planning a trip to the water, a campground by the beach, or the mountains? A folding shelter - a tent or cell - could be useful for you.
Another factor is how long you will be away from home. If it's a multi-day stay in the countryside, it's usually preferable to choose larger, bulkier luggage. The length of your stay also determines your food supplies and clothing quantities.
While we all wish the weather was nice for camping, it's good to be prepared for possible showers, cooler nights or cold winds.

Basic Camping Equipment
1. TANT
A tent is sure to be among the first items on your list. If you're not camping with a caravan or sleeping under a tent, a tent will serve as your shelter, including overnight accommodation. Depending on how many people will be sleeping in the tent will determine its size. Don't forget the complete tent equipment, which includes tent sticks or tent pads. We recommend you reading our blog article How to choose a tent, which will advise you on the best tent for your purposes.
2. SLEEPING BAG
A sleeping bag or sleeping bag ensures your comfort during the night and it is an essential part of camping. Types of sleeping bags include summer sleeping bags, which are sufficient for sleeping in a tent, car or cabin. Summer sleeping bags are normally manufactured up to a temperature of 5 °C. If you don't have to deal with the extra weight of a sleeping bag, a roomier blanket sleeping bag will suffice. If you need to save space and lighten the load is convenient to choose a mummy-type sleeping bag, which has a drawstring hood and follows your body better.
3. MATTRESS
A mattress is an essential part of camping. It can make sleeping in a tent or under a tent more comfortable, as it isolates well from the cold ground. The groundsheets come in different thicknesses and designs. If you wish for the comfort and the convenience without the hassle of luggage, you can choose an air mattress or the popular self-inflating mats. Read our article How to choose a camping pad.

TIP: When choosing a tent for camping, consider not only the water column (which determines the waterproofness of the tent) but also the ventilation system. When you use it properly, you will ensure that you will not have unwanted moisture in your tent.
4. BACKPACKS
A luggage that can hold all your stuff is an essential piece of equipment for trips and multi-day stays away from home. If you're planning to travel on foot and take your stuff with you, you'll appreciate the strong back system, the padded shoulder straps and the waist belt for stability even on more challenging hiking trips or hikes. Look for the sophistication of pocketing and additional rain jackets and covers to protect your things from getting wet.
5. Suitable CLOTHING
Choose appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather and season. You will appreciate a raincoat when you are travelling, as it is light and portable. It's a good idea to pack it with you to protect you from sudden rain or wind. Functional clothing will keep you comfortable during almost any outdoor activity. The functional material used wicks away sweat well.
6. Suitable FOOTWEAR
Choose footwear not only according to the weather, but also according to the terrain conditions. If you will be doing more demanding hikes, it is better to choose good quality closed trekking shoes. For casual hiking in summer, travelling in the countryside and in the city, you can choose open sports shoes. Take a look at our e-shop where we are offering women's and men's outdoor footwear.

TIP: Ideally test how your hiking backpack or cross-body fits when fully loaded before you go camping.
Other Equipment Suitable for Camping
Accessories for cooking
A campfire is definitely part of camping, so don't forget the right accessories to start one - matches, lighters, firelighters, gas containers. Food boxes and certainly drinking bottles can also come in useful. You should think not only about food, but especially about drinking. It is important to know in advance what places you are going to go to and if it is somewhere away from civilization where there is no drinking water, be sure to remember the water cans.
Picnic blanket
A picnic blanket can be a suitable accessory for relaxing in the meadow, at the campsite or on the beach. The bottom thin aluminium layer protects against dampness and can be easily wiped clean when dirty. The blanket is suitable for picnics in the countryside, in the park or as a pad for the water.
Camping equipment
Little things can sometimes make the difference in how much you enjoy your camping trip. A cap protects you from the direct sun, as do the glasses, which also protect your eyes from wind and insects. When fishing or being by the water, you might appreciate a hat with a mosquito mask or a mosquito net. Headlamps, lamps or flashlights will serve you well in the dark and in the gloom. Binoculars may be useful to enjoy the views to the full, and you can pack a compass or a buzzer to help you navigate through the maps and the terrain.

TIP: If you're worried about the weather or you if you are more sensitive to cold, you can get electric heated bags, shoe liners or electrically heated items of clothing such as socks, a vest or gloves, or try solar portable showers. The products will keep you reliably warm and provide comfort in colder conditions.

For your Comfort
A popular accessory for camping is a hammock, and you can bring folding chairs, stools or a comfortable inflatable bag for comfortable seating. In our e-shop you will find, among others, a folding seat for up to 4 people or a multifunctional backpack with stool.

Outdoor aktivities
If you are going for hiking, we recommend taking trekking poles, which you will appreciate as a passionate hiker and as an enthusiastic traveler. You can read how to choose the ideal trekking poles in our blog article. Climbing is also a popular outdoor activity in recent times. If you are going for an experience like this, don't forget the right equipment for safe climbing - ropes, carabiners, climbing magnesium, etc.

Summary
In today's modern, hectic times, we are longing more and more for peace and nature. We appreciate trips outside the city much more. Camping in itself forces you out of your comfort zone to some extent, where you are left to fend for yourself and the equipment you have with you. The true camping experience can be all the more rewarding if you choose the right tent, sleeping bag, travel pack or backpack, comfortable (functional) clothing and the right footwear. It is equally important to know at least approximately the location you are going to and to allow for the unpredictability of the weather. Now nothing can take you by surprise and we hope you will love camping as much as we do.
TIP: Try your equipment at home before you go away. Try pitching a tent, inflating a mattress or hanging a hammock. It will save you a lot of time on your trip.
